Love this App

I LOVE this app !! It is FREE or you can buy extra support at a very cheap rate. I don't need it as the program super easy to use even for an older person has Aust foods listed. It breaks down carbs, protein, fats plus other nutrient facts. I had a question about privacy settings very quickly a clear email came back Free & app support and Australian. I have used it every day for 4 weeks now and it is helping me reach my weight loss goal by tracking what I eat, how long I sleep how much I exercise and do daily activities such as housework, driving, desk, work etc. You can link some other apps but I don't need to. Takes mere minutes to do each day and you have a constant track towards your calorie, exercise and weight loss goal. I was told about another very expensive online weight loss program why would you bother when you have FAT SECRET !! 7kg down still a few to go

Not accurate nutritional info

I've been using FatSecret since March to track my keto diet. There was a lot I loved - the journals, the interface is super easy to use, and being able to chart macro nutrients. But major frustration - when you add a recipe you cannot edit it, once saved! So I have a recipe list that has garbage in it where i made mistakes that I can't now delete or modify, so a big waste of effort inputting them. Another poor feature is that you cannot see the nutritional profile for any food in the database until after you have added it to a recipe. And a major problem with this is that you only discover after a laborious process that nutritional information for brand name ingredients is often completely wrong. A brand name coconut flour is recorded as having no fiber, but actually coconut flour has lots of fiber and when you are eating keto it's crucial that fiber is accurately recorded, otherwise your net carbohydrates are going to be incorrect. And the final problem of course is that it can't calculate net carbs anyway. So a very promising app to begin with, but didn't live up to it. So sad.

Great for a free app!

I got this app as I didn't want to pay for my fitness pal to track macros - this tracks everything perfectly. Great to save you meals in too for quick input, you can even put recipes into custom meals and just include the macro break down per serve so you don't have to fiddle around putting every single ingredient in and working out the portion of each you've had. I always tease my partner who didn't know about this app and has paid for my fitness pal. Awesome that you can track your weight, integrate it with your health app, and include before and after pics in my own file. The only downside is it that it still seems in the growing phase so when you scan some barcodes, you need to input all the info as it doesn't yet have it in their systems, but hey - if it benefits everything (including myself), I'm happy to spend two minutes doing this. Great free app - thanks!
